The fund received an overwhelming 800 applications from across Scotland and more than 60 successful organisations will benefit from grants between £25,000 and £200,000.With the announcement of this award and being a successful recipient of £100,000 from the Robertson Trust 50th Anniversary Award Programme in December and £100,000 from sportscotland earlier this month sees the project funding in place for their extension.

The proposed extension to the Spartans Community Football Academy will add additional capacity for community programmes and support the new proposed full size 3G Synthetic football pitch with added changing capacity. SCFA have built up a strong evidence base over the last 3 years that proves the impact their organisation has in the North Edinburgh Community.

Craig Graham, Chairman, said “we look forward to being able to work with even more local youngsters as a result of this investment.  We expect to have over 100 more each week at the Academy involved in a range of indoor and outdoor activities.  In particular our indoor space will include a dance floor which will attract more girls to have fun and stay active”.
