What people say

We have recently had the pleasure of working with the PMR team – and from start to finish it has been an excellent experience. Having no personal knowledge or expertise in the particular field that PMR were helping us with, their knowledge and skills were impressive and valuable, which led for us to a successful conclusion. Their style is professional, informed and is coupled with a warm, friendly, supportive and humorous approach – it has been an absolute pleasure to work with them!

PMR came highly recommended and I have not been disappointed.

I required the assistance of a Professional organisation, who could provide a depth of knowledge and experience, to work alongside the Football Club and others, to help bring together the potential for a “Major” Sporting/Community Hub in the town of Peterhead.
I have found the work carried out by Penny and Wendy to date to be of the highest standard. The research which they have undertaken has been both diligent and thorough, displaying a clear empathy and understanding of the local requirement. The resulting “Feasibility Study” produced by PMR has been widely acclaimed and has allowed us to progress our “project” to the next stage.
PMR will continue to be an integral part of our “team” providing highly professional, reliable and honest sporting facility consultancy and expertise. What Penny and Wendy have and continue to provide is a major contribution to delivering our long term ambitions for the project.

“It has been a real pleasure working with PMR over the past year. The company and staff are always very professional and supportive in their work. They bring a strength in experience and independence in their views. PMR have worked alongside East Lothian Council colleagues in supporting the Council in its £4.8m facility Legacy Plans. Their support and role in this development has without doubt enhanced the delivery of the project.

PMR have a wealth of knowledge nationally in the social enterprise/third sector and as such have delivered welcomed reviews into 2 of East Lothian’s sporting trusts at Hallhill in Dunbar and Pennypit in Prestonpans. Both reviews have generated welcomed goals for both organisations and developments are ongoing with PMR and both the local trusts which are bearing positive fruits for all.”

“When we started our project back in 2000, our volunteer committee had lots of good ideas, no money, no real idea of how we could move these ideas forward. PMR prepared a comprehensive feasibility report which was funded by West Lothian Council and Penny and the PMR team worked very closely with us for the next five years to deliver our new ‘Albyn Park’ facility.

PMR were involved in every aspect of this project, Our football club was restructured as a Limited Company and a Registered Charity. PMR worked tirelessly with us to secure funding from WLC, Scottish Government, Robertson Trust, Gannochy Trust and local fund raising programmes.

They identified and interviewed a first class ‘Design Team’ for our project and on the football side they worked with the club to help us achieve the SFA Quality Mark Accreditation. PMR were by our side throughout the construction period acting as a fundamental link with funders, the design team and West Lothian Council which proved to be essential to see the delivery of the project succeed. Since our project has been completed PMR have provided us with financial systems and continued staffing support

We at Broxburn United Sports Club recognise that our project would never have been achieved without the professionalism, dedication, guidance and overall  support of PMR Leisure. If we ever undertake another project, the first number we will contact is 01620 895900″

“PMR Leisure has worked with Argyll and Bute Council on three substantial projects over the past two years with impressive results. Their ability to engage communities in meaningful discussion that is not possible for local authorities is just one of their unique strengths, but one which creates trustbelief and committment in a project.

Penny and her team have the ability to interpret a clients aspirations and test them in the community as well as with national agencies, governing bodies of sport and most importantly funders, to produce tangible plans and strategies to get things done. “

Community Sport Lead Manager, Argyll and Bute Council

“The reason we have always worked with PMR on our Inch Park project is because PMR deliver where others just talk about it“

Malcolm Gillies

Chairman, Inch Park Community Sports Club

“It’s without doubt that PMR have been instrumental in getting our campaign for an All Weather Pitch in Campbeltown back on track. After 10 years of campaigning  for this vital facility and being shoved from pillar to post in Council budgets, PMR helped focus Argyll and Bute Council’s attention to our need for a synthetic pitch and to bring us in line with all the other communities in Argyll.

It is so refreshing to deal with consultants who understand the need of a community and who want to understand the needs of a community – to actually listen and take on board what people say. From the moment Penny, Wendy and Callum arrived in Campbeltown as apart of the Argyll and Bute Council’s Sports Pitches and Facility Plan back in early 2010 it was evident form the outset that they wanted to meet the people and listen to the community’s needs as a whole. For the first time people from all sporting clubs got together and discussed what was important to their club and the community as a whole. This in turn helped a number of local clubs focus on their priorities and requirements.

As a Sports Council we can’t thank PMR enough for the support they have given us over the last 12 months and we look forward to Argyll and Bute Council’s Sports Pitch and Facility Plan. We were absolutely delighted when Argyll and Bute Council appointed PMR Leisure in October 2010 to undertake further work to develop an All Weather Pitch at Kinloch Green and six months later and with fingers and toes crossed, we are on the brink of making our dream a reality! In one word, the personal and professional level of work from PMR, the support, effort and continued encouragement we have encountered is simply FANTASTIC.”

Having worked with PMR for many years in my previous role and now again at SA I find their ability to understand communities and respond to individuals needs  always leads to ‘reaching the unreachable’ and bringing the very best out of every situation they work with always to the benefit of community sport. My team very much found the session of huge benefit which will enable them to take practical tools in to their working day.   I very much look forward to working with PMR Leisure again in the future

“We love working with Penny and the team at PMR. Their knowledge of community sport in Scotland is second to none and has been immensely helpful in shaping SIS’s investment activity in this segment.

What we like best is their down to earth, informal approach which enables us to work closely together in designing the right solutions to enable growth in the ownership of community based sporting facilities. We trust them 100% which is crucial in any relationship.”
