Opening of the first IRB22/Fifa 2* pitch at Wittingehame Drive, Haddington

Haddington sporting community celebrates the opening of the first IRB22/Fifa 2* pitch at Wittingehame Drive

A year ago Kenny MacAskill opened a pavilion at Wittingehame Drive and he was back today to open a fantastic new synthetic pitch funded through East Lothian Council and sportscotland read. PMR Leisure have worked with three East Lothian communities on behalf of East Lothian Council’s Legacy Project to develop and implement three much needed 3G pitches for the County. The first of these projects based in Haddington sees the first community based IRB22/Fifa 2* pitch in Scotland now being managed by the local sports clubs on behalf of East Lothian Council in a new ground breaking partnership for the clubs in Haddington.

The pitch will be used by the 100’s of young children and adults involved in Haddington Athletic Community Club and Haddington RFC along with the County SRU Development Officer using the facility for the County development squads.

This project marks the first of four new major facilities being developed as part of East Lothians 2012 Legacy all due to open in the coming months. PMR Leisure have partnered East Lothian Council from the inception through to implementation and are delighted to see the impact these projects are having within their own home County.
