Since September PMR Leisure have been working closely on the second stage of this fantastic community led project with a Working Group representing all aspects of the Peterhead community which is now working towards an agreed integrated vision for community sport for the town.

‘To develop a new sporting and community managed hub at Catto Park providing high quality fit for purpose sporting and inclusive community based indoor and outdoor facilities. The ‘Hub’ will be used to deliver education, community sport and sporting excellence alongside incorporating the new home for Day Service provision for the community’

This unique project to be based at CattoPark will form a new heart for the Peterhead community. The new facility, through smart design development by Michael Laird Architects and Slorach & Wood, combines community sporting facilities, school sporting facilities, a new integrated facility for Aberdeenshire Council Day Care Services and a home for Peterhead FC.

This project phase is being funded by Aberdeenshire Council and Peterhead FC and has the backing of the whole community who see this as a major part of the town’s regeneration and legacy for sport.

The project incorporates elements that have come from the community consultation which include 3G and 2G synthetic sports pitches for football and hockey, refurbished athletics track, indoor 60m x 40m football facility, sports hall, boxing gym, play provision, community learning facilities, social environment, fitness and of course the full integration of a new facility base for the Day Service from Willowbank.
