Today saw the culmination of 18 years work as Malcolm Gillies, Chair of IPCSC alongside Kenny MacAskill cut the ribbon to signify the opening of this much longed for community club house. PMR Leisure as their consulting partners for the last 8 years are delighted today to see the facility come to fruition for the community of south Edinburgh. This project through the support of PMR has led to a unique self build project funded by sportscotland, City of Edinburgh Council, The Robertson Trust, WREN, Viridor Credits Scotland and Biffaward. Over the last year the project has achieved Community Sport Hub status and is the first club based Community Sport Hub in Scotland. Malcolm Gillies gave thanks to all those involved in bringing this project to reality and added “the hard work starts now”. Stewart Harris Chief Executive ofsportscotland praised Malcolm and the clubs for believing in their end goal and they should be extremely proud for what they have achieved. The journey is not quite finished as this winter sees the pitches being redeveloped and PMR continue to work alongside IPCSC to ensure next autumn five sports pitches are fully available and being used by the Inch Park Clubs. However once finished there is a further goal in the minds of the IPCSC Board – watch this space as PMR continue their involvement as IPCSC evolves.
