INCH PARK COMMUNITY SPORTS CLUB

PMR Leisure Ltd’s client list includes Lismore Rugby Football Club which has been working for some time to create a first class multi-sporting site in the Inch Park to serve south-east Edinburgh and its community.  The aim of the project is to:

“Develop and enhance the natural environment of Inch Park to reflect the needs of the whole Community.  The provision of a modern Clubhouse, high quality pitches, landscaped areas and quality park environment for all the Community to enjoy from the recreational user to the top class sports participant”.

While Lismore is the lead club in this project, they are working in partnership with South Edinburgh Boys’ Football Club and Edinburgh South Cricket Club in taking forward the proposals that will include the creation of Inch Park Community Sports Club.  The identification of Edinburgh Athletics Club as a new partner, the club requires a home building to base their club from, has developed the proposals to provide a running trail around the park for their training needs.  The involvement of the Athletics Club provides a great opportunity for a sporting presence in the park all year round and will broaden the activity opportunity for the community.  These Clubs have signed up to, and given their support to the project, as have all the governing bodies of the relevant sports.  Other clubs and organisations will be able to use all the facilities.  Lismore RFC’s vision is to provide new facilities which include:

    • Upgrading of current pitches
    • Building of one full sized synthetic pitch
    • Building of new 2 storey changing facilities, including club and social facilities
    • Provision of a running trail
