About PMR

PMR Leisure Ltd was established as a leisure and architectural consultancy in 1999 by Penny Lochhead. The formation of PMR was designed to deliver effective strategic solutions on service and facility development for communities and clients. The original combination of leisure and architectural expertise allowed PMR to reach out and expand its client base through the provision of unique services within the leisure industry. Particular successes included PMR being commissioned as technical advisors to the New Opportunities Fund NOPES programme, and as lead consultants in the development of the sportscotland guidance publication ‘Secondary School Sports Facilities - Designing for School and Community Use’ (2003).

The PMR Team has evolved since those early days and now consists of Penny Lochhead (Leisure Director), Alan Miller (Senior Consultant) and Wendy Sheldrick (Research Manager). This evolution of PMR has also seen the company re-branded as PMR Leisure Ltd Community Sports and Leisure Consultants. These changes have allowed us to develop partnerships with associates such as Gareth Hoskins Architects, JM Architects, Slorach and Wood Architects, Doig and Smith Quantity Surveyors, Aedas Landscape and Environments that have enabled PMR to continue providing a service on facility design and particularly community club use that compliments our core skills and experience. We are now also able to provide communications advice to clients and take a view on how local community projects can fit within a national policy context.
